CANTICO PROJECT

Design, creativity and Made in Italy. Italian art, and in particular opera and prose theater, are not only the spearhead of our country but a strategic economic resource, a heritage to be enhanced, with internationally recognized productions and educational offerings of excellence. The project aims to: - Foster the growth of the audience base that attends opera and drama theaters through the use of AR/VR technologies to attract younger audiences; - Extend the enjoyment of productions beyond the traditional channel of live performance, through innovative remote enjoyment tools, both in real-time and on-demand and through the adoption of techniques and methodologies to foster accessibility for the disabled; - Accompanying the growth of a passionate and aware audience and training the artists of tomorrow, through awareness-raising actions - Improving the programming capacity of opera and drama theaters through innovative data collection and analysis tools.

WHEN OPERA MEETS TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION

The Cantico project aims to improve the sustainability of prose and opera theater. The goal is to implement an experimental platform to support both education (Opera and Prose Theaters, Conservatories) and the Italian cultural tradition. An innovative multichannel platform that allows fostering the growth of a passionate and aware audience, extends the fruition of productions beyond the traditional channel of live performance, promotes accessibility to people with disabilities, and uses innovative immersive technologies to train the artists of tomorrow and, at the same time, develop a new inclusive education.

Opera shows and theaters are generally considered for older people today. Younger generations prefer dynamic entertainment and are used to taking advantage of trial periods before a purchase.

ACCESSIBILITY

A large proportion of people have difficulty benefiting from opera and operatic performances because they are expensive and sometimes have inconvenient schedules. Others, however, do not live in cities with theaters or may have disabilities that prevent them from accessing the physical venue.
